Cross Country Running
Well done to all our athletes who took part in The East Clare Primary Schools Cross Country Championships in Lees Rd. on Wednesday September 21st. A number of athletes have qualified to represent the school in the Clare Championships which will take palce in November. Our boys over 12s also took 3rd place in the team event.
All Ireland Champions
Congratulations to our dancers and musicians who were sucessful at the All Ireland Fleadh which took place in Ennis recently.
Junior Infants 2016 - 2017
A big welcome to our new junior infants who have settled in very well to school. Well done girls and boys.
St. Mochulla's NS will reopen for all children on Thursday September 1st. We are looking forward to another exciting and busy year at school.
Raising of the Flags
On Wednesday 22nd June, our Active School Flag and Blue Star Flag were raised by Fr. Brendan. Fr. Brendan is a local sporting legend having played football for Clare. Well done to all involved in the Active School Flag and Blue Star Programme
Write A Book 2016

Holy Communion 2016
Congratulations to all the boys and girls in second class who made their
First Holy Communion on Saturday May 14th.
INTO Mini 7s Hurling Champions
History was made in Sixmilebridge on the 21st of April when the boys of St. Mochulla's completed a unique double by winning the INTO Mini 7s hurling competition to add to the football title they won earlier in the month. Following hard fought victories over Quin and Sixmilebridge, the boys qualified to meet Broadford in the final. After a Titanic struggle the boys from St. Mochulla's emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins. Maith sibh a bhuchaillí, táimid go léir an bhrodúil asaibh.

On Wednesday April 13th 5 teams from St. Mochullas competed in the FAI 5 Aside Primary Schools
Soccer Tournament which was held in Lees Road.

On March 10th, 5th and 6th classes were in Dublin where they took the 1916 Freedom Tour, visited Collins Barracks, Croke Park and Glasnevin Cemetery. Here are the children on the steps outside Croke Park.

Congratulations to our quiz team who have qualified for The Credit Union National Finals in The RDS following their success at the regional finals.

Ms. McGraths 3rd class recently had the experience of Forest School. This involved travelling to a woodland area and engaging with nature. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and thank you to Veronica and Michael for affording them this opportunity.

On Tuesday October 13th two members of the Irish Defence Forces visited St. Mochullas and presented us with the National Flag and a copy of The Proclamation as part of The Flags for Schools initiative taking place around the country to commemorate the Centenary of The 1916 Rising.

Green Schools 2015
Our Green Schools Committee with our latest Green Flag.
Our Green Schools Committee travelled to Galway recently where they were presented with our latest Green Flag. This is St. Mochullas sixth Green Flag and it was awarded for Global Citizenship Litter and Waste. Well done to everyone in the school for all their hard work. A special thank you to our Green Schools Committee who led the charge for this flag.

Senior Infants Recycling Projects.
On Friday, February 6th the children from senior infants presented their projects made from recyclable materials to the rest of the school and to their parents. Well done Seniors on all your wonderful projects. A big thank you to all the parents, Ms. Culloo and Ms Queally for all your help.
Clare Primary Schools Handball.
Congratulations to our pupils on winning the Clare Priamry Schools Handball championships recently. They went on to represent Clare in the Munster Championships where they did us proud. Well done!

Primary Science Fair
On Friday January 8th, 6th class from St. Mochullas traveled to The Primary Science Fair in The RDS in Dublin with their project "Is there more to our soil than dirt."

Ireland Under 21 Champions Visit St. Mochullas.
Seadna Morey, Shane McGrath, Eibhear Quilligan, Niall Bolton and Gerry O Connor with the Cross of Cashel All Ireland Under 21 trophy and the children of St. Mochullas on the occasion of their visit to the school on October 17th.
School Garden
There has been great work done in the school garden over a number of evenings during the past week.
A huge thank you to Tulla scouts and beevers for their help in this project.
A special visitor.
On March 27th a fireman from Scariff fire station came to St. Mochullas to speak to 3rd and 4th classes about fire safety. He brought his fire engine and all the classes came out for a look.

Tree Planting Cermony for Mr. Torpey
On January 10th Mr. Torpey planted a tree for his retirement. He planted a Liquid Amber. The oldest and youngest pupils in the school helped Mr. Torpey to plant his Tree.
