Congratulations to the 6th class debate team who were successful in the County Semi Final on Wednesday 2nd May. The motion "The Voting Age should be lowered to 16" was proposed by Scoil Chríost Rí in Ennis. Tulla opposed the motion with very strong arguments. They now go on to the County Final against either Broadford or Mól an Óige. We wish them the very best of luck. Thank you to Ms. Corry for all her hard work and dedication in helping to prepare the children for their debates.
Well done to Marcus Freeman who represented St. Mochulla's N.S in this year's Spelling Bee.
6th Class Debate
Well done to our 6th class debating team who recently took on Kilkishen National School. We proposed the motion 'Donald Trump's "wall" in Doonbeg will be good for Clare'. Both teams put forward very strong arguments, but in the end adjudicator Liam Lawlor declared St. Mochulla's the winners. Well done to captain Molly Jane Sweeney, speakers Aoibhínn O' Mahony and Georgia O' Brien and crossfire speakers Caoimhe Egan, Emmet Mulcahy and Avril Creaven. Best of luck to our team the semi-final.
